polysome [pol-ee-sohm] : a cluster of improvised sounds linked together through a practice of intimate listening.
Polysome1 is a live improvisation between violinist Daniel Machado and producer cecilnick. Daniel performed violin through an analog delay and looping board while cecilnick further manipulated the sounds through Ableton Live.
The DNA of improvisation is a process of existing in the present moment. When two people improvise together there is a transfer of both ideas and self. A simple act of listening catalyzes this synthesis—the ear a gateway down the spiral to our deeper mind. Without listening, improvisation becomes anecdoche.
This live recording documents grief, personal and global; and release, through a seemingly unrelated conversation that marks the start/end of an era in your life.
